This is just a short explanatory video on why I'm a vegan. I said "was" when I mean't to say "am" and made myself cringe, but besides that it is honest and to the point. I hope you enjoy it!!!

@MauyMcFearson - Awesome. Gave a +1 because, even though I sort of disagree w/ your reasoning, I can't complain because I became a vegetarian at 38 and vegan at 40. Everyone goes at their own pace and I respect that.
Although I don't want to subject animals to needless suffering,I am not against using them for the betterment of man. Consequently,my veganism come--not from moral concerns, but from the desire for healtier living. I used to be an overweight, always tired person with type two diabetes. But,since I embraced a low fat vegan diet,I dropped 40 pounds, became highly energized and strong. I also lost the symptoms of diabetes. Veganism rocks!
The word itself was coined by Donald Watson after reading books on the ancient practice of Ahimsa. Unfortunately now a days people like you use it as a self serving diet. One becomes a vegan to be in harmony with the Universe. I know and understand that what I do while in this planet, has a karmatic reaction of immeasurable ramifications. Ergo, I try to avoid the exploitation of the earth and all it's living beings. Just say you don't eat flesh or something, you are not a VEGAN.
Your definition of veganism is'nt the only one. In common parlance it is defined as a diet absent not merely meats ala vegetarianism, but of all animal products such as dairy, eggs, etc. As for exploiting the planet,I'm all in favor of that. Afterall,I don't live in outer space. Human are not built to live in harmony with nature, but to master it,which is not to say that we should tear down every tree, but changing our environment is as human as skyscrapers near central park.
