  • @applebit924 ......continued, I was gonna razz you for your v8 transplant, but cant do it to a Paul supporter. :) Do you have any more info, or pics of your widebody conversion? Id like to fit 12's in the rear. Im somewhat of a purist. I want to do a widebody that looks as stock as possible, and keep it steel. Yours looks pretty much like a 944. What size rims can you run?

  • @applebit924 Im down where do you live? Ill only drag from a roll though. Im pushing enough power that the stock transaxle, and chassis could twist. I didnt build a drag car. Our chassis, and trans simply doesnt hold up above 500 or so. Mezger never designed it with the intent of stop light racing. These cars were forged in the fire of Le mans. I found your vid while doing a search for widebody 944's. Im considering doing a widebody on my 86'. ........

  • surly it would have been cheaper using a 944 shell with the better rear suspension, better gearbox etc .. than having to widebody a 924 (which looks the same as a 944 S2) then uprate the rest of the running gear to deal with the power gain.

  • @vipexperformance but the only draw back to that is the loss of all value

  • @toddk911 a small block chevy without any problem

  • @applebit924 Yea, a lot more rubber would be needed! Actually I have a heavy modded 951, but a big motor 914 would be a nice little Porsche "shelby" Cobra. lol

  • @toddk911 I know you can install the LS series in your 914! Tires might need a little "upgrading" but it'll go!
