Matthew 28:19 talks about baptizing the world in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Later, Christians started using the sign of the cross to remind themselves of the Trinity and of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.
Scripture doesn't tell us to do this, but so what? It's not a teaching or anything. We're not forcing Catholics to do the sign. It is a simple reminder. Scripture does not forbid it.
I'm so happy to see that you are excited about the Church, brother. Amen!
How about the "sign of the cross" in which we do before praying, is it biblical? actualy I began doubting when one preacher told me that the scriptures are so silent about doing the sign of the cross and I couldn't even answer him. I try to read the bible but I couldn't see any verse regarding the sign of the cross...
Martin Luther, at first, did not want to leave the Church. He just saw some bad things that were happening in the Church and wanted to get rid of those bad things (such as corrupt priests).
Over time, he decided that he wanted to leave because he started coming up with his own theology that contradicted the Church. He found that his theology was contradicted by some Scripture, so he simply removed those Scriptures from the Bible. Protestants have been following Luther's canon since.
That is about right. However, Scripture emphasizes the need to confess (1 John 1:9) our sins to an ordained minister with the authority to communicate God's mercy to you (John 20:23).
Also, we must be contrite. The Lord's Prayer (Luke 11:2-4) demonstrates that we must have the desire to flee from all evil. You cannot be forgiven unless you are truly sorry and want to change.
Actually, the books such as Wisdom were taken out by the Reformers of the 16th century. Catholics are one of the few Christians left who still have them. Therefore we have the complete Bible.
The priest asks you to say the act of contrition because that is how he knows that you meet the three requirements for forgiveness: 1) contriteness; 2) confession; and 3) willingness to repentance.
1 Timothy 3:15 says that the Church is the foundation for truth. The Church can declare what is a mortal sin.

You're very welcome! I enjoy teaching others about the faith so no problem.
No, I am not a priest, but I recently made the decision to enter the seminary. So maybe in about 8 or 9 years I will be a priest!

In your opinion Sir, why do think Martin Luther took away those books?Or what is the reason why left the church?

Thank You very much for answering...
Of those three requirements, I think non-catholics only believe in repentance....
