TNPIR'94 - Julie Cialani's hidden talent

This may have been the first aired ep., but in any case the show opens with Doug getting the lovely Julie to do her funny duck voice. I don't think we ever got to hear her normal voice in the whole series! Check out GameTV's Dave Nemeth hosting Extra prior to the clip. I can't believe how strong KNBC came in with our off-air antenna, as my family was living in far eastern San Diego County at the time. KNBC aired TNPIR at 7:30 PM and I thoroughly enjoyed this version along with Doug Davidson (though his "YOU WIN" cry were shades of Patrick Wayne).

Ah, "Extra"...when it started out as a straightforward competitor to "Entertainment Tonight" before it went to hell.

In response to that (and the upcoming "Access Hollywood"), Linda Bell Blue would become ET's new Executive Producer, a position she still holds to this day.

I remember this short lived modification in syndication.. but, it fell flat because you just don't mess with a classic.. even with Drew and some changes, TPIR is still the quality product it was back in 1974
