Redmond is looking to resurrect the idea behind the CueCat--linking a bar code in printed material to all manner of online content. With Microsoft Tag, though, the software maker relies on a cell phone camera rather than a dedicated gadget to scan the bar code. CNET's Ina Fried has a look at the technology.

  • why would you not just use a QR code? Why does microsoft feel the need to obsolete existing technology. Stick to the standards. let the public adapt.
