  • @DenOfVipers Oh boy, don't get caught using the "wrong terminology" around here. It'll be twisted and bent into something you didn't mean to say. Anyway, I am fucking PISSED (yeah, I'M MAD BRO) that they stopped digitizing characters. Such a waste.

  • @Onirayushizobura I may have been using the wrong terminology. My point is, they should be digitizing images of real human beings into video games. It is taking way too long to make realistic looking characters using polygons or triangles or whatever the hell they decide to use. The whole point of "MORTAL Kombat" was real people were doing the fighting. Albeit with some magical tricks up their sleeves. I know they "motion capture" real peoples movements, which get translated into BULLSHIT.

  • @mlopinto2k1 They do use Motion Capture today. In fact they use it more nowadays than they ever have in the past, in movies, as well as videogames. And it's almost exclusively used in conjunction with the "3D bullshit" you seem to dislike.

Although,"Motion Capture"wasn't what was going on in this video. This process has never been given an official name, to my knowledge, but the product is called "Digitized Sprites". The end result is only a 2D image, so it has no application in most games today.

  • @DenOfVipers I don't think it would be backward if it genuinely looked better than 3D models.

  • @mlopinto2k1 Really? So today's technology should be used to make a photograph sprite? Do you have any idea how backward that would be?

  • @DenOfVipers You've got to out of your mind. If they used motion capture today it would so much more advanced than the 3D bullshit they have today. Such a waste.

  • @critThreat well, whatever that technique is wherein the photos of the characters are used as sprites. That was such a silly idea.

  • @DenOfVipers what do you mean? They still use MoCap...

  • I'm so glad motion-capture went away.

  • Where is the making of MK2? Wow
