Naginata and Daishosabaki were the focus of 1995's live 3 day instructor training. World class Bujinkan instructors attended to learn Soke Hatsumi?s magic of taijutsu and expanded life through Naginata (long bladed staff) and Daishosabaki (sword disarm counters). Having to move with a long range weapon challenges the taijutsu of even the best practitioner and makes them better. This was a thrilling, dynamic Tai Kai sure to improve the way you move!

  • I think he wants his opponent to make the attack followed through.

  • So Hatsumi tells his opponent not to strike his hand?

  • im sorry i don't see this as effective today i kinda see here stephen k hayes is talking about when he says change some things for the modern world and i notice that everytime someone tries to attack hatsumi there either off balance or from far back i dont support the bujinkan i think he's using people to get money then teach

  • i bet hes saying, "all u round eyed gaijin think your ninjas.. hahah"

  • @Cplblue wth do u live where you can walk around and do your shopping with a naginata?!

  • I need to learn this style. I always walk around and shop with my naginata and just don't know how to protect myself with it :(

  • @Lamangelow ~He didnt tell his opponent not to strike his hand, he stated that he is now out of reach from his opponents weapon, thats why he swung his sword past; "as example".

  • Hatsumi Sama!!!!

  • With a name like BuddhaZenMind you are incredibly disrespectful of Hatsumi Sensei.

Post your inconsiderate comments somewhere where they do not offend a living relic, you drug-addicted miscreant.

  • nice use of distance. Great art. And plz ppl respect this and other arts. dont hate what you dont know.

  • like his thoughts but you never see any students actually punching like they do on the street or following through. more realism if we are to believe he is awesome.

  • hes still tough in that age
