Using an electric water pump for rain water. The headphones are RCA wireless
so I can putter around the yard while listening to audio.

Here is an update on this pump running off the inverter/battery/solar system;

  • The powerbright 1500 has a 3000w peak capacity. After reattaching the battery cables (the set screws to the exposed copper strands tightened) was able to get the pump running. Panels in full sun will work. See more recent update video.

  • @MrShawn305 True, true. I went back and read my original post and I don't know what I was thinking lol. I think i was just reading about wattage conversion then and got things mixed up. It happens lol. I honestly didn't even remember posting on this video in the first place because it was over a year ago...

  • @maddogg862000 If that were the case, the generator would come under a full load, in fact 600 watts above full rated peak load. The engine would be working much harder and this would be noticeable. This is simply not the case, like I said, the generator barely notices the load at all. And if it was pulling that much at startup, it would trip the 20 amp breakers in my house in an instant- thats 109 amps. Rule of thumb is 3 times the running wattage for startup which puts it at just under 47 amps.

  • @MrShawn305 Then the peak load is prob 10-12kw. The ratings on the side panel of any device with a motor (i.e. drill, jackhammer, compressor, etc) is what the initial draw is. That's more than likely why your generator doesn't have a problem running your compressor.

  • @maddogg862000 continuous

  • @MrShawn305 Question, is the 8kw rating the continuous load or the peak load? Just curious.

  • @maddogg862000 I think 6 to 7 times is a little much, if that were the case then my 8KW generator would not be able to start my little 4 gallon air compressor as the starting load would be 10.8-12.6 KW by your estimates. However, the machine barely even notices the load at all, starting and running.

  • nice video

  • Very nice setup you have going there. If you want to run your well pump off of your solar setup, your going to need a inverter that can handle the starting load. That can be as high as six to seven times the run load. For example, if the run load is 5A than its start load could be as much as 35A! Keep up the good work!
