VAQ-209 Starwarriors - E/A-6B Prowlers - Carrier Field Practice

Here is a quick video of the VAQ-209 Starwarriors. These guys came down to NAS Oceana for about a week to do their Carrier Qualifications. But before they go on the boat, they have to practice on land, and Fentress was the hot spot for their practice. It was great and the LSO was super cool. Let me tell ya something about the Prowlers, Unlike the Hornets and Super Hornets, the Prowler has a jet rumble that seems to rattle teeth more than rattle the ground. it was a weird first time hearing one up close. lol

Cool. I was a with crash rescue (turretman) from 74 to 75 at Fentress. Remember days sitting on runway either in mb1 or mb5.

I would relish the opportunity to fly in a Prowler. I just love that aircraft, and apparently so did the Mayans and the Egyptians. The Mayans have small gold models and the Egyptians have drawings of the Prowlers. The only aircraft worthy to command the attention of the Ancients who saw our day, or....the Prowler has a hidden history as the mystery Skygods.
