Recorded by CCR and written by the band's lead singer, guitarist and songwriter, John Fogerty.

It was included on their 1970 album Cosmo's Factory, the group's fifth album released as a single in July of 1970. The song's lyrics, filled with colorful, dream-like imagery, led some to believe that the song was about drugs. In interviews Fogerty stated that the song was actually written for his then three-year old son, Josh. Fogerty has also said that the reference to a parade passing by was inspired by the Dr. Seuss book. It climbed to number two on the Billboard Pop Singles chart.

I had to transpose to a completley different key to sing it with this voice but I think it came out okay.

Wow, love your voice and strumming. You play like I did when I was a teen in the 70's. This makes me want to play guitar again, but my shelties won't let me, lol. I have to put my foot down and make them be good while I play guitar. They will probably howl along, lol.
