Bill Kirchen, drummer Jack O'Dell and guitarist/ bassist Keith Grimes at the Bank St. Cafe in New London, Connecticut, November 28, 2008. I think Bill was playing a fiesta red Tokai Breezysound "lawsuit" model. I'm only going to post songs I haven't previously posted from other shows, about 15 in all. To watch "Truckin Trees For Christmas" in much better resolution and sound quality go to HDshare website.

  • Nice job Bill

  • The actual title of this song is "I'm A Lonesome Fugitive", written by Liz and Casey Anderson for Merle Haggard.

  • I'm a long haul trucker and it's so true. The highway is my home.

  • Bravo!

  • nice job!

  • @sophiesage Absolutely! His intro (and solo) on "Hey, Good Lookin'" is worth the price of the album! On that tune, his playing sounds like a 55 Ford or Chevvy rolling up the street, or maybe an old panel truck with round fenders and the radio blasting.

Roy AND Danny Gatton! Maryland - DC raised up a nice little crop of classy pickers. Roy Clarke's from that neck of the woods, too, I think - or lived there a long time.

    Take it easy!

  • @pyannaguy Great album! Roys solo's on that album are just exquisite microbursts of perfection.. I saw him many times before he did himself in. As the last sentence of the liner notes from the Roy Buchannon Anthology double CD ( AWSOME collection ) says...."Was there ever a more souful guitarist?"

  • Bill does a nice 3-pc. live version, here, but if you ever get a chance - Roy Buchanan did a version that'll damn near break your heart with his old band from the sticks of Maryland - The Snake Stretchers. Chuck Tilley on vocals, Pete van Allen on bass - shame on me for forgetting the drummer. The late great Dick Heintze on piano.

If you get a chance? What an album! It has "Hey Good Lookin'" and "Haunted House." No wonder they raved about Roy B. when he was at his best! Like ringin' a bell!!

  • By the way, this song is called "The Fugitive", or "Lonesome Fugitive".

  • In my younger years in England I used to go to see an act called 'Leroy & Linda' and they were VERY GOOD.......................WISH THEY'D POST ON HERE
