Two popular (and handsome) guys. To your left is Keith McCaskill, and to your right is Cecil Sveinson. Winnipeg Chief of Police Keith McCaskill is so popular he could be premier of Manitoba if he wanted to. He is well loved by the public and his officers alike. He's a rock star, with great hair (like Elvis). Following is some info about Keith and Cecil. But first remember, all police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect us, so we should appreciate them. And the Government should hire more officers. That's money well spent.

Having joined the ranks of Winnipeg Police Service in 1976, Keith McCaskill held various leadership roles within the Service, including Divisional Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division and Division Commander of District 3 and District 2. Keith is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy, and of the Canadian Police College's Senior Police Administration Course and Executive Development Course. He was elected President of the FBI National Academy Associates North West Chapter representing law enforcement officers from South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Manitoba, and has been active on numerous boards and committees. Keith assumed the role of Chief of Police on Monday, December 10, 2007.

With the Chief here is Patrol Sergeant Cecil Sveinson, Program Manager and Aboriginal Liaison Officer. Cecil joined the Winnipeg Police Service in 1992. He has worked in General Patrol in Division 14 (Elmwood) and Division 13 (North End). He has also worked as a Collision Reconstructionist in the Traffic Unit and an instructor at the Training Unit. Cecil is a pipe and bundle carrier, and although challenging, he is honoured to be able to use it in his work.
He is a member of the following boards/committees:
Office of Ethics, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission's National Working Group on Ethics in Policing
Law Enforcement Aboriginal and Diversity Network Education Sub-Committee
LivingWorks Education Aboriginal Suicide Intervention Focus Group
Behavioral Health Foundation
Ka Ni Kanichihk
United Against Racism
Kakekay Spiritual Society
City of Winnipeg Aboriginal Employees Group
City of Winnipeg Aboriginal Education Working Group
Aboriginal Advisory Committee
