Legislation has been introduced in Congress to keep taxes off Internet access. It is very simple. When some activity is taxed the result will be less of that activity. If you tax internet sales the result will be less internet sales. The resulting unintended consequences will be an increase in unemployment and a greater need for tax revenues. These problems are exacerbated by government bureaucracies that are far less efficient with the money that they took, than the people that they took the money from.
