personally i think u are planting them all wrong, leek roots should be trimmed to 20mm and a small hole should be made in the soil with a dibber, drop the leeks into the hole, fill with water, NOT soil, that is the way i have always be taught and that is the way i grow my leeks with %100 growth everytime
Fair enough. Ours worked out quite well, absolute success each year. I understand your method as well, if it works that's great. I'm sure there are quite a few different ways to do this all working well. Thank you for the response.
@palui Hi , i have heard of this method, so basically if i make a 9" hole , just drop a single leek in and do nothing to cover the roots over, is that right?. don't bother to fill the hole.

Is this transfer technique good for leaks only? or can I aplly to any plants seedlings that need to transfer to flower beds?

@chandnee This particular method would be for onions and leeks. Not to be used for other crops.
