MONOFILM

A pyrokinetic installation standing 8' and consisting of wood, plastic, soft paper, and nitrocellulose film stock. The lantern-like pentapod was lit from within by a 500w halogen light. Roughly 50' of film was unspooled from the reel on top of the structure, and displayed in gradually spiralling rows against the luminous paper. A strip of film at the base of the structure was finally ignited, producing the effect seen in the video.

from my understanding, the fumes given off by burning nitrate based film are highly toxic

What was the film? Hopefully it was something expendable like one print of Many or some old Stck That wasnt really needed.
