How to draw a regular hexagon using compasses.

  • Good question, Saphhire - and the answer is that the radius of your circle is the same length as each of the sides of the hexagon. So, if you want a side of 5 cm to your hexagon, set your compasses to make the circle 5 cm radius :-)

    (If you join each of the vertices of the hexagon to the centre of the circle, you get six equilateral triangles ...)
