so when i plugged it in it says it says it "hardware couldn't" be installed or something like that, but now when i plug it in it just doesn't do anything. please help!

generally, every piece of hardware that uses midi can be used by any program than can handle midi. so no restriction to a certain DAW. using it somewhere else than the one it has been designed for just means you need a mapping (information what key does what)
