5k in 27.24? When I was 14 or 15 I could get 20 minutes for 5k cross country, no problem. In fact, when I was in grade 9, turning 15 in June (our winter here in Australia) we switched to 7k for grades 9 and 10. I got 3rd in a bit under 30 minutes, on a wet day, on a hilly course. No, this can't be 5k. I'd say it would be 6k.

Excellent effort for a fat kid. If he trains and loses weight, he'll kick their asses next year, no problem. In fact, he probably has, since this is 2 years ago.
