most sex offenses against children occur at the hands of family and friends. Not all sex offenders are kiddy diddlers. I am a sex offender and have been for almost 20 years! I was 14 years old and goosed a 35 year old woman at my local mall as a prank my friends dared me to do. I got charged with indecent liberties did my time and forgot to re-register after I graduated college and got put in jail charged with a new felony and lost my job, I am now 37.

Geographical restrictions on sex offenders is a complete myth. There is no proof whatsoever that it provides any protection against recidivism. All it does is push these people towards further desperation. An angry, desperate, sex offender knows no boundaries.
Witch hunt. The level of hysteria, fear-mongering and destruction of civil liberties has reached an all time high in this country. The Scarlet Letter by Hawthorne needs to be mandatory reading for all school children these days.
