Non-Aligned First Ladies unite for well being of women and children-17.07.2009-ITN News Sri Lanka

First Lady Shiranthi Wickremesinghe Rajapaksa has said that worlds First Ladies should unite for the well being of women and children. She was addressing the First Ladies Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Summit was successfully staged at the Sharm El Sheik City. Women in Crisis Management was the theme. Attention was adverted to the welfare of women of member countries. Mrs. Rajapaksa said the decade which commenced in the year 2000 brought many unfavourable challenges to the member countries. These included the economic and financial crisis, the energy crisis, the food crisis and natural disasters. She opined the Sri Lanka Government was implementing a viable plan and timely strategies to meet these challenges.
