Well but take in count that oldest known anime is from year 1917 , Imokawa Mukuzo Genkanban no Maki .
So Yeah after such a long history of making anime it's definitely hard to find something new and original :D

@Greenmarthy hahaa no. thats why they are making remakes and spin offs of the old stuff like hunter x hunter 2011 and Fate/Zero, and many more. No one is able to bring an original into the scene anymore. Every plot, every flag, every gag has been overused in the last 8 years its sickening. lol i want a totally new world... for anime.

@proaudiomaniac Well Not all of those are 10 yrs old anime. Even now you can find good anime like "Agel Beats!", "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai" or "Kara no Kyoukai" depends on what kind of gendre, style, etc you r looking for. Fan service was there even 20 years ago :)
But yeah last years were weaker, but 2010/11 were ones of the better years for anime's quality, again depends on what you are looking for.

@Greenmarthy damn all the stuff yall watching now i watched almost 10 years ago. I'm glad to see you guys are watching good anime instead of those new crap the put out these days like highschool of the dead, or other crap no story fan service animes. otaku power to you!

also dont forget to watch "Elfen Lied" beautiful yet sad romance...
"H2O: Footprints in the Sand" very nice and sad as well ....
I also enjoyed "Ah! Megami-sama" (Oh!My goddess) because its so peaceful and i felt really comfortable during and after watching.. Though its not sad at all it is definitely is one of the better anime out there.
Drama and mystery "Higashi no Eden"
Or if you prefer long anime to better connect with protagonists, try "Eureka 7" ( not sad)

@Greenmarthy yah, that's wut i meant lol. Just finished Kanon! It was awesome! But Not As awesome! As Clannad! Not Close. The ending blowed and i hated how ayu was the main love intrest. anyway, moving on to Air, then Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, then Angel Beats. Keep me posted for any good animes plz
