Autoliv's Inflator Facility provides a broad offering of lifesaving airbag inflator products and has over 60 manufacturing lines and ships to 36 locations worldwide. Its customers depend on them to build high-performance products that are 100% reliable. At the time of its Shingo certification in 2003, the Inflator group consisted of two facilities, which were later consolidated into one. Since that consolidation, and through continually applying APS principles, they are building approximately 20% more inflators annually, with nearly 50% fewer employees.

• Kaizen suggestions increased by 253%
• 98.5% on-time delivery to customers
• Reduced conveyance between Ogden and Brigham facilities by 50%
•Increased parts built per person by 82%
