PPD should change their slogan to " Harass, Intimidate, Slander". Typical clowns.

Thank God he just received a $25,000 settlement, and for you haters out there then blame the GED recipient cops for violating his rights and most importantly,...NOT KNOWING THE LAW ON GUNS ! How the hell can you be a cop and not know this law. I think the next time I visit relatives I'm gonna open carry in Philly to make me a little money. : )

There's alot of arguments here between people for the cops and people for the guy open carrying frankly I am for the constitution and bill of rights this man was put in a dangerous situation through bad police training these cops should know the law and should never put a citizen through that. The man did nothing wrong he walked scott free because he obeyed the law so the problem was negligence of law by the officers that does'nt make them bad but badly trained, they should be retrained on gun law

@littlemas2 When I was carrying with a permit from another state under the reciprocity law I carried the code with me before I obtained my current CCW permit. In asking probably 20 officers if they knew if it was legal to carry I even had two officers argue each other whether another permit was valid. Half thought not. It's easier to ask for the duty Sgt to enter into the situation and look at the statute rather than get tossed in the slammer and let the judge sort it out 24-48 hrs later.

@EyeOnFrontSight they do just qualify 1x a year at a range, they aslo shoot at the range on a weekly basis, the range at my gun club is full of cops every time i go in there. I live within driving distance of 3 free ranges, i go to them with my thrower and shoot my own clays, and see cops shoting at them 2. They shoot a shit load of rounds every year. once you learn good shooting form the only way to imrpove is to shoot a fuckload

@PhillyPd25thNets You don't know what you're talking about: "cops are taught to aim center mass in the heart 3 times". That implies you stop and reassess. So you missed or only wounded him and he is now firing three in YOUR heart. You are trained to shoot until the threat has been stopped. Go to court saying, "I shot as I was instructed....three at his heart", and enjoy the time behind bars as the jury hears that insanity. And how do you know he is "great"? I support cops, not assholes

@tsharpmac420 "from a cop who is a trained marksman"
Few cops do more than qualify 1x a year. Unless practicing weekly the last thing they are is "well trained". Give them $ for ammunition and you might see that. They don't have practice time and particularly not in big cities due to the number of officers. Oh, the officer could have handled this better. I've offered my permit a few times and been told I wouldn't offer it if I wasn't legally carrying. Only one time was I asked where it was.

@iwillybilly WOuld you sit there and disobey 14 orders from some dude thats not a cop and has a gun pointed at ur center of mass?
-
@xxdonaldqxxx dude i hate cops hardcore, but i respect them for putting their life in situations i would want no fucking part of. None of these haters have any real reason to attack these cops. They are all to retarded and cant understand that this douche bag mark kept himself in a extremly dangerous situation for aslong as possibible
-
@antibrainwash lol i wanna see u draw a gun and shoot someone whos already got one pointed at ur chest
@PhillyPd25thNets I am absolutely tired of this BS argument. He was a law abiding citizen carrying a legal firearm and was trying to clear things up by offering his permit. DOES A CRIMINAL DO THAT?! What criminal offers to show you a license if they have a gun on their hip?! This is absolute inanity and I'm tired of hearing it. Why should he be lucky? Do we live in a world where men in blue uniforms can shoot us for standing calmly and responding politely? Please...GTFO

Police pull sting operations on citizens all the time, setting people up to break the law and then arresting them. Why shouldn't people pull sting operations on police? There is no excuse for the kind of ignorance and misbehavior displayed by the officers involved here.
