The third step of the tennis serve is the backswing. The backswing is how you take the racket back during your service preparation. You're backswing needs to position your arm and the tennis racket in a way that allows you to swing forward correctly later in your service motion. The relationship between your arm and the tennis racket that allows you to do that is called the "L" position.

  • Yes there are a number of techniques. This video only focuses on the backswing so you shouldn't worry about some of the other stuff going on. The "down together up together" motion is pretty easy to learn so that's why we teach it.

  • I can answer that...my son was having trouble swinging up at the ball early because his tossing arm was making him swing up faster than necessary. then we watched Juan Monaco on TV and it solved the problem. so YES there are different tecniques you can use.

  • The "down together up together" motion

is a little bit diffcult to understand but

you can bring your racketarm back

and which place you can bring the racket down.?
