@Kidjulis Hey, asking questions is awesome! It means you're trying to understand. And yes, masks are typically worn in Noh theatre. It's actually another part of their training. Depending on which way they tilt their head, another whole emotion and/ or implication can be drawn. It's very complicated. Also, the same actors can wear different masks.

@9GuineaPig9 I was thinking the same (I want to make clear that I know very little about this tradition), also don't they wear masks in Noh theatre? Just asking! not wanting to be rude... I'm studing this and I don't understand it much...

don't listen to these people; while it's important that japan preserves the authenticity of it's culture, this kind of assimilation only speaks for japan so great job :)

IMO, the overture to Throne of Blood is the most memorable example of the music and chanting.

おお、養老だ。初番目物は目出度くていいですねー。他の方もおっ
しゃってるとおり、これ、歌舞伎ではなくて能ですね。(This is not Kabuki but Noh)
What are all these comments about the "white guy?" The art isn't any less traditional because of the man's race. He's devoted to learning it. Cultural expansion causes this. I mean hell, why not get blacks out of ballet, or latinos off Broadway? I don't think chinese traditionally played baroque music, but yet we acknowledge their achievements. Acknowledge his! Tradition is about the spirit of the art form and what it embodies. Pay attention to its deliverance, not what color the vessel is.
