HARMONY BOYS
Thanks to You Tube Friends: dairyman 716 (who has given me many important informations) and kr103 (who also sent me a set of absolutly awesome photographs!) I could make this info about excellent German male vocal group from 1930s., called the Harmony Boys. In 1933 they changed the name from Harmony Boys into the none English/more German name Fidelios, as they got a contract with the Deutsche Grammophon. Their recordings show the remarkable talent and sophisticated genre of the group, who could easily rival the famous Comedian Harmonists.
The Harmony Boys were founded in 1932 when four of the five members were still in school. The group made their first recordings at the end of the year, later securing a contract with "Deutsche Grammophon" for 20 sides. Their forced name-change to "Fidelios" did not appease the officials, who thought the boys were making fun of Beethoven's opera! The group disbanded on December 31st, 1933.
Harmony Boys & Fidelios:
Werner Doege (Piano)
Olaf Meitzner (1. Tenor)
Wolfgang Leuschner (2. Tenor)
Heinz Raetz (Baritone) (He left the group in May 1932 and Erich Bergau became the new baritone)
Werner Rössler (Bass)
Recording:
Hormony Boys -- Dorothee, Dorothee..! Polydor 1933

On 26 December 2011 Wolfgang Leuschner died at the age of 99. He was the last of our old heroes and will be missed ...

Fantastic! In October and December 1933 she again toured the Netherlands. Back in Berlin parted Wolfgang Leuschner and Werner Doege of the group and formed with Hans von Bachmayr-Heyda, Wolfgang Schmidt and Gerhard Ullrich, a new ensemble, the Melodist. The ones who remain fetched added Imlau and Fried Walter Herbert and called themselves Humoresque Melodios.

Moin, Moin from Texas!
If you like the Golden entertainment of the 1920s, you might like Brendan McNally's dark comic novel "Germania" (Simon & Schuster, 2009), about the Flying Magical Loerber Brothers, four somewhat magical, Jewish vaudeville entertainers and onetime child stars who were the toast of Berlin before WWII and who reunite during the surreal, three-week "Flensburg Reich" of Admiral Doenitz, Hitler's very unlucky successor.

No problem :-)
Yes, my grandfather is Werner Doege, but I am no musician on my own ;-)
(I gave up after learning recorder in primary school...)

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that you bothered to dedicate time to post all the lyrics! Are you also a musician, at least amatuer? I believe talent runs in the family:) Is your grandfather Werner Doege? And again, thank you sincerely:)

Dorothee, Dorothee
(...?) die Butterblumen blühn
ju bi fallera bi fallera juchhe,
kleine süße Dorothee.
