As Madison stated in Federalist No. 45:
Powers delegated to the Federal government are few and defined
Powers remaining in the State governments are numerous and indefinite

Too many in representatives (and citizens) do not understand the authority granted unto congress; this authority is defined in the Constitution with the 18 enumerated powers (Article 1 Section 8).

Really starting at the beginning of the 1900s legislators, presidents, bureaucrats, and justices have bastardized the meaning, intent, and interpretation of these powers and our founding documents in general. Until this is stopped and reversed, we will continue to put band-aids on mortal wounds.

Some of the major violations to the pure constitution are around 3 clauses:
1.General Welfare clause
2.Necessary and Proper clause
3.Commerce clause

Another large departure from original intent of the constitution is when the 14th Amendment was reinterpreted to apply the Bill of Rights (1st 10 Amendments) to the states. This was never the intent of the founders. The entire purpose of the Constitution was to define the purpose and limitations of the general (i.e. federal) government.

  • I get it. I think we should ask....How does God think we are doing? What should we do...looking from His perspective? Back in the day, people helped each other. Now we depend on the govt because people stopped helping their neighbors. I help mine all the time, when I can. However, I'm poor and white. I have a BS degree and can't even get a job a McDonald's because I'm too old. When I do find work, they pay the minimum. How do I pay for health insurance when the premium is more than ...

  • @gospelgirl1964 - As I stated before, you're talking about our unalienable duties (which is not to be mixed up with gov't intervention). Rhetorical question/response to your point - Would God condone you forcing someone else to pay for your Cervical Cancer treatment? This is a conversation better to be had live on my radio show (Saturday's from 12-2pm ET). Listen from anywhere via my website (link at my YouTube Channel or just google 'The Forgotten Men'). I just may cover your topic this week.

  • Gossip Girl, disgard the comment from me. It was intended for that useful idiot Joshua.

  • @henryfio - Who's the useful idiot?

  • Research the original meaning of the general welfare clause.

  • When the Founding Fathers said that “WE THE PEOPLE” established the Constitution to “promote the general Welfare,” they did not mean the federal government would have the power to aid education, build roads, and subsidize business. Likewise, Article 1, Section 8 did not give Congress the right to use tax money for whatever social and economic programs Congress might think would be good for the “general welfare.”

  • I'm angry. Angry that the laws in place aren't even exercised. But it cost more and more for us to run our country...just paying the idiots in DC.

  • ....more than I make? I wouldn't mind paying if I had the money. I've not seen a doctor in more than 6yrs because it simply is not in my budget. So...I die young, simply because I'm too poor to get a mammogram?...Cervical Cancer? I vote to please God, no other. But...I believe God doesn't want those with all the money to be so greedy either. There must be an answer....with or w/o the constitution.
