Blebbistatin is a small molecule inhibitor of non-muscle myosin II, which plays a critical role in cell migration, cell division, and many other cellular processes. The sudden inactivation of myosin II caused the extension of peripheral membrane in normal epithelial cells.

  • I'm guessing since blebbistatin inhibits cell contractility via myosin II pathway, the cells relax more and expand onto the substrate.
