James Janeteas with Cimetrix, a Stratasys reseller, explains 3D printing technology with real working models printed on the Dimension 3D Printer during the Canadian Manufacturing & Technology Show in Tornoto, Ontario, October 2009. Using a 3D Printer, engineers can enhance their design process by printing concept 3D models and functional prototypes in house, saving time and money over out-sourced solutions. Dimension 3D Printers use Stratasys Fused Deposition Modeling, or FDM technology to produce accurate, durable models for testing form, fit and function.
@joew1021 Actually, there are already such variations of the 3D printer that do that. Just search for 3D printed food.

@joew1021 You will. Just replace the plastic powder with an eatable powder with specific flavours and replace the synthetic glue with an eatable aglutinant (glue) like syrup or something like that. You can then eat the final product...

wow like 20 years from now, we will have "express" 3d printer the size of your normal inkjet printers, and kids will have to use them to create models and stuff for their projects at school. haha that really would suckk!! xD cool stuff tho, i can make random models and put it around the house, cheap and stylish :D

excellent, HP just bought this technology and is now shipping Designjet 3D color and non-color versions of this in Europe. Jennifer Coolidge should play this reporter in the movie of her life. I love her :)
