my copy got run over by a car when i ran across the road trying to catch the bus but I dropped it, im still trying to decide whether that was a good thing cos I used to listen to this song wayyyyy to much and I used to get sooo depressed and cry all the time

A few years back after being introduced to 'fast car', I became obsessed with it. needless to say, I went out and started looking for covers and I came across this version. I laughed and said how terrible it was just like others viewers did. After being depressed for a while now, i came back to this version and it blew me away. I have not cried to a song in a very long time. This one made me brake down. All i have to say is that next time you are depressed, come and listen. it will make sense.

It makes me feel as if the singer is singing it to himself in the dark of his room, alone, lying in bed, trying very hard not to cry, or has just finished sobbing, and is reciting the lyrics to console himself, perhaps trying to convince himself he can do the same, to escape from his life no matter how hard it may seem, to make something, go somewhere, live better... and failing...
