This was the first video I uploaded above, and only now I read all the comments! I think that, being a kind of music so special, it is right that people can like it or not. I like it. although sad, it makes me relax... sometimes I wish to hear it, and I think I do feel good. I'm glad some of you have been happy to find this cover. I'm sorry for those who did not like it! But enyhow... you are not forced to listen to it!!!! So....Byeeeee everyone!!!!!!!

A few years back after being introduced to 'fast car', I became obsessed with it. needless to say, I went out and started looking for covers and I came across this version. I laughed and said how terrible it was just like others viewers did. After being depressed for a while now, i came back to this version and it blew me away. I have not cried to a song in a very long time. This one made me brake down. All i have to say is that next time you are depressed, come and listen. it will make sense.

I hear it like a Tom Waits song. It's like a miniature movie where the rawness of the audio helps to frame the desperation of the songs protagonist. The drone in the 1st and 3rd chorus is a transition to a dream that the character has of being unburdened from the horrible responsibility in their waking life which is represented by the stark, slightly out of tune guitar hook. It's very visual. I know this sounds pretty wanky, but it's just an opinion. Not all movies have to be in technicolor.

You're right, this is way too much for hipsters. While I feel that Xiu Xiu may go a bit too far at times, they explore such raw emotion that it's impossible to ignore them.

yeah and i would if you actually took it seriously. you're proposing the problem that some art can be so out there that it "isnt art", but this is the same shit said by people who call some songs "not music" because it's just not their thing.
