That's a Lady Amherst female (chestnut markings in head and in the saddle, grayish legs and feet, barred tail) so, basically what you are doing is helping to destroy both species making hybrids and selling them as pure.

hes trying to show of, but doesnt have enough time, she isnt looking!

@supersonic2394161 that is defiantly a golden pheasant in its purest form as well! also the golden pheasant is one of the most common and popular of all ornamental species available in oz uk us and many others it originates from central china but now as feral self supporting populations in the UK and US so yes it is in fact a golden pheasant!

seen this displaying many times.very comical to watch; the female must get really pissed off with the male jumping in front of her every 30 seconds but luckily the males hormones eventually settle down;then peace is restored

Wonderful birds. I find the female almost equally beautiful in a different way. Love the wee-baby-bird sounds the great big showy male emits! - maybe evolved to decrease fear in the female. But what really amazes me is... 26 eggs?? Wow!

These birds like to get in each others face huh xD
The females usually lay about a dozen eggs in a clutch but if the eggs are removed from her nest (for artificial incubation) then they will continue to lay. We can sometimes get as many as 50 eggs from a Golden hen and if a few hens are kept with one cock he will usually manage to fertilise most if not all the eggs so it is quite possible to end up with 150 eggs.

I live in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. This morn I saw a bird that look like the one in this video, I took a picture of him and went around asking the neighbors if it was thiers, I was told that it belong to some people that live on the back side of my apt complex and they raise them for people to hunt. There are so beautiful, I would be open to suggestions as to how I could put a stop to this. I live in the city limits AND THE POLICE WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.. please email me at sheshe54@hotmail.com

We live in the UK and Golden Pheasants are not reared for shooting here. I don't know what the law is regarding them in the US. I wouldn't want you to end up in bother by doing something illegal but you could encourage the birds to come to you to feed so possibly keeping them from getting shot. I know it is not a perfect suggestion but it could save some. Certainly there are plenty of game pheasants not shot in our area which rear their young successfully every year.
Best of luck.

@supersonic2394161
Golden Pheasants are from China. Our birds are captive bred and are definitely Golden Pheasants. They are one of two species of Ruffed Pheasants. The other of which is the Lady Amherst Pheasant. We have plenty of photos of the pheasants we keep on our website (Allandoo Pheasantry) and have been breeding them for many years.
If you have a picture of the type of bird you know of then maybe we could find out more about it.
