@jollyholiday The song was written by 'The Dream' Jon never had the song.. The Dream is an artist on Def Jam.. Jay-Z at the time was President @ Def Jam.. not to hard to get a record placed on Beyonce's album...

i can see why he chose to take it off his album because you can argue it doesn't flow with the rest of his songs [i guess] but i love this song [ was obsessed with beyonce's version and was so pumped when i found this ] and it would be great if he had just so there was at least a slight chance that he'd play this again live.

Yeah Beyonce's is an awesome version, but I ended up loving his version more cuz it's just out of this world!
Live is of course hard[er] to do... he has so many flats in this one, but still cool ^^

Wow!! John McLaughlin is a genious, he knows how to perform... I can't get enough of this song performed by him... Just one question I when to i-tunes but I couldn't find it...can someone advise?

It wouldn't be on iTunes because Jon didn't release this song. He took it off his album at the last minute and the rights were sold to Beyonce. I'm sure you could find/download his version of it somewhere if you looked, though.
