  • He thinks he's so clever, when he tries to claim that an advantage of the patent system is that the knowledge is disclosed - it perhaps applies to the manufacturing methods, like the violins he mentioned, but in the case of the web? How do you define a communications protocol... without telling the participants what it is?

    "Uh, yeah, we're gonna send you some packets. We think our protocol is awesome. But it's like, a trade secret, so we can't tell you how to decode them."

    Dumbass.
