  • Weaveworld

  • @gorboy Imajica, The Great And Secret Show, and Everville are pretty good too. There's some seriously depraved stuff going on in his books, though.

  • I like King, but Barker and Straub have always been better.

  • @MrBatty132 The Damnation game is a good place to start, but if I were you I would start with his short stories and novellas; they're what he's known for. Try the Books of Blood (vols. 1-3 can be bought in one issue) and the Hellbound Heart! Also, Barker has written books outside the Horror genre (but none lose their dark intensity) like Weaveworld, which is really one of the best dark-Fantasy books I've ever read.

  • @stephenkingrules1 I've always preferred Barker to King because his style is more poetic, but King is better at characterization (which I would argue is the one thing Barker isn't great at.)

BOOKS OF BLOOD They will BLOW YOUR MIND.SCAR YOUR BRAIN FOR LIFE. :)

  • @MrBatty132 Books of Blood

  • @MrBatty132 As a specialist in the horror genre(books and movies) I would advise you to start from the beginning...Meaning? "The Damnation Game" is the first book ever being published by Clive Barker. It's a deal-with-the-devil kind of story and, I could say, very well-written...Despite my favourite author being Stephen King I enjoy Barker's books as well and I hope that my advise will help you to start your journey into CB world.Take care...

  • Yeah I'm yet to read anything by this guy but you know JG Ballard and Alan Moore have both acclaimed him so he must be something special, could you suggest where I should start?

  • love this XD
