I used this video to clean my father n laws maverick 88 last night.. I found this video very helpfull and I didnt know the maverick 88 was exactly the mossberg 500 until watching this video(never had worked on either)..so got 2 birds with one stone...If I had anything negative to say it would be lighting and I prefer watching disassembly on long guns from left to right meaning the firearm facing right. All in all, it was a great video my friend

@aaronddawg Appreciate the comment, I have addressed the lighting issue starting with my last video on the custom Colt. As far as which way the firearm is facing maybe I'll switch it up next time. Your plug should have 2 O-rings on either end to prevent movement, so I would check that, but it may be normal as it has been a looong time since I have removed my plug

@miketheride No, not without modification. The end of the mavericks magazine tube won't allow a shell to pass through.

@miketheride You can, but it is a difficult process and you can mar or crush your magazine tube. I would not recommend it. Just to cover the basics, you have removed the wooden dowel out of your magazine tube correct?

also, is it normal to hear the plug movin round in this thing? i never disassembled the magazine tube so i know it wasnt from me working on it...is this normal?...put 2 shells in and it stops obviously

@miketheride no, it is stock. The older ones have the single slide bar, I believe they changed to double slide bars in the late 90's. Hope this helps

hey i have a question that i saw re-guarding the take down i have a mav88 myself but i don't have the double rods on the pump. was that an add on you did on yours? is it possible to change the pumps to a different style?
