Shashi Tharoor did not further the discussion. He merely aired his own understanding. What is missing in this interview is a focus on the relevance of the vedantic view on identity. How it impacts society as a whole and on individuals. I do not share the gurus brand of hinduism but agree on principle that the aphorism "aham brahamsmi", what that entails ought to be taught everywhere.
Without proper delineation of such knowledge, religion as a process quickly succumbs to corruption.

Shashi Tharoor mentioned progroms in Gujarat but how can he forget to mention Sikh massacre by his Congress party not even for a religion but to avenge their party leaders assassination? Guruji is too innocent to note his omission. But one should not forget the Congress' record in this kind of violence.

Hell is a vile, abusive, disgusting concept. God buys love & loyalty with torture? A Gandhi, Teresa, Mandela would never think of torturing their enemies, whereas a Saddam, Hitler, Stalin would. This is the company that God keeps? Karma & Rebirth is the better, the non-violent way. You are not punished, nor are you simply forgiven because you begged enough. The most important aspect of Karma is that you are held accountable for your actions, you are reborn, given another chance to make amends.

Denying to accept the real is today's truth., unbelievable but true..
Every parent has always thought their kids, goodness, kindness, courtesy, truth, all the family values, and has somewhere, denies to completely follow himself/ herself among his peers, at work, in public ..

I believe, this is more scientific than spiritual,
the word spiritual is for an Ignorant, the acceptance way,
the word scientific is for an intelligent, who understands, and just need to accept, but apply and act the right way..
so much psychology, than philosophy..
Humanness, humanity is definitely understandable.. and simple, and followable

Great dialogue. I think Sri Sri made a clear point that terrorism can be won only by winning the hearts and not wars. Shashi Tharoor has incredible smartness and asked / posed very complicated questions fairly and in very simple terms. He acknowledged several legitimate boundaries within which the UN has to operate. However, towards the end, looks like Shashi Tharoor missed Sri Sri's point about how to win the war on Terrorism.
Thank you CNBC! for arranging this.
