  • Great update! I've only seen South Park, Road, Stripes, and KK remake. The Road was well acted, but I don't think I will watch it again. The KK remake was good, but I hated how they quoted lines word from word of the original. I wish they would have made it their own, with just the basic premiss intact.

  • @Moviefan7359 yeah i get ya

  • Most of them I have not seen but I do remember seeing South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut and that was funny, Stripes was great as well, The Karate Kid (2010 remake) I was worried about as well since the guy who directed it directed The Pink Panther 2 which was panned but it was a surprise and Jackie Chan did a great job, but yea I wasn't a fan of the music choice either (the only one I remember was Poker Face by Lady Gaga) and Hugo is just amazing and a great tribute to film from the past.

  • I would really like to see The Road sometime soon, those Soviet based films sounded interesting and now I must put Stripes and a few others on my mental to-watch list.

  • I have mixed feelings about The Karate Kid remake. Jaden Smith is to young for the part so the bullying aspect doesn't work because of the teenage rivalry theme in the original and the relationship was horrible. The worst parts of the movie came from it. The chemistry was bad,the girl wasn't that interesting of a character and again there to young for it to work. However Jackie Chan was great. And I enjoyed a few individual scenes. It feels more like a homage to the original rather then remake.

  • Great stuff Josh! A very interesting variety of movies. I really liked The Road, I found it to be a very realistic depiction of a post apocalypse world and I agree that it's very movie. I missed seeing The Way Back in cinemas, I think I'll still check it out.

I'm really pleased that you loved Hugo and had the same appreciation that I did. I really do think it will be remembered as one of Scorsese's best.

  • Great update. Stripes is a classic. Hugo is a movie that I will NEVER forget.
