The vast majority of sex offenses are committed by trusted adults-family members, friends, clergy-and go unreported because of manipulation of the victims, unconscionable decisions by other adults, or both.

@SOTVPRESENTS I agree, ur 9 times likely be to assaulted by someone NOT on the registry than someone on it! And a child is More likey to be sexually assaulted by his or her own father than anyone on a registry! And the number of kids abused and killed by their parents FAR outways the number abused by strangers! With those statistics in mind, Every parent upon giving child birth should be made to register as a threat to their child!

Of the next 100 sex crimes in your community over 90 of them will be perpetrated by first time offenders. Do you really want to live in a society where we never take a calculated risk on anyone ever convicted of any serious crime? Are previously convicted sex offenders the greatest threat to your familys safety in your neighborhood? Or would your children be at more risk from the burgling meth cook with the previously convicted arsonist son who likes to beat people up?
