  • hey man. congrats on your first beer. one suggestion though. Don't use that bottle scrubber on your plastics. it will scratch the plastic and provide places for bacteria to live, and possibly infect your beer. if you need to scrub, use a super soft sponge.

    cheers

  • @hattrick364 Thanks! I honestly haven't even used it at all. I just wrapped up my second batch and have just used a soft sponge instead. I've also moved any homebrewing and beer related stuff to a different channel. It's LewanBrewing. Check it out if you're interested.

    Cheers!

  • the results are written all over your face the second you tasted it !! i bet the stuff is awesome :)

and i'd like to try my hand at this sometime too. i love my beer and i bet brewing the stuff at home will make it better for quality, and hence the hangover wont be as bad.

oh, and just in case, if your using vegas to render, try using pal widescreen 720 x 576, it'll give your vids the best res for youtube :)

  • @DaveyLoosesWeight It was amazing. And I still have several bottles left right now, but those will be gone when I go back home to Ohio and my family gets to try it for the first time. It's a lot of fun to make and you definitely end up with a higher quality, fresher beer.

That's been one of the great mysteries with vegas...the rendering dimensions! I've tried a few different ones and could never seem to get it right. I will be using those dimensions on the next one.

  • LOL - I loved watching your excitement in this video, especially at the end. You were like a little kid getting ready to open presents on Christmas Day! LOL So cute. It WAS good beer! I liked it. Hey, can I request that you make a "light" version beer if possible and send me another bottle? That would be cool! I like your idea too about having a beer thing instead of the cigar for when baby arrives. Thats cool!

  • @MissJulieJanee Thanks Julie! I had so much fun working on each step of the batch. I'm glad you liked it as well. My next batch that I'll be making in a few weeks will be lighter. It'll be a cranberry wheat ale. So something lighter and with a little sweetness too. I'll be sure to send you another bottle once that batch is ready to go.

it also took me awhile to get the settings correct with vegas.

but just to let you know that that res is still classed as 480 in youtube. so it wont fill up the full entire screen. but the side bars will be removed ( 4:3 aspect ), and all you'll see is a little black border above and below the vid when you play it on yt. i use 720 x 576 on all my low res vids. its a good middle ground :)
