@keenecop haha. The reason is that Richie didn't actually sing with his real voice until the 1989 season. Devyn's brother Tommy Puett sang for him. The same thing occurred with Connie. Devyn sang for Connie in the 1987 season, and Connie had a lot of solos. Connie sang in 1988 and didn't ever really have a solo, but Devyn did have a lot of solos.

I always found it odd that Richie never really took the lead on a song they performed on stage, but would always do a solo off the stage.

I can think of several songs that they covered twice: I'm Still Standing (1984/1987), Tumble 4 Ya (1984/1987), Magic 1985/1985), No Looking Back (1985/1986). Those are a few that I got off the top of my head.

Actually, this season was because their ages matched up better with each other than the other kids, since ya know, they were babysitting...
