@Trumblebee yeah, that's the thing: Songhai and Tuareg mixing. Sometimes due to trade, other times due to being war captives in which marrying a Tuareg women would increase one's status to being a "noble." There are also Tuaregs in Guinea..right there on the coast. They were sold in the TAST and it is my theory that it was this group that convinced the Europeans to venture into Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger (all located near Guinea from left to right) along the Niger River and take others.

@ISpitFire2010 Not true. Some African Americans have Tuareg blood. And Igbos were only taken to 3 states. European slave owners hated Yorubas and Igbos so they stopped importing them. They mostly wanted mandenka, mande and Fulani from the coast. They took Tuareg women and children as well. No one has really sat down to research this aspect of the trade because the coastal tribes were the most targeted. And therefore it is assumed that ALL African Americans are from the coast but not so.

I've met beautiful african people with different skin tone, hair texture. Seriously you better watch what you're saying. Also they are dark skin africans who are beautiful.
