GITAU, the father of Kenyan cartooning, shows us Juha Kalulu (SillyRabbit) , the comic strip he began in 1951. He also shows us his political cartoons during the Moi era.

  • @ceanne0218 kalulu is the name of the cartoon not the cartoonist...juha kalulu translates to kalulu the village idiot. You can try contacting Taifa Leo newspaper

  • Yenyewe Edward Gitau... I have been touched when I've 'discovered' you. The messages u passed in ll those cartoons were very simple clear and true. U showed us the true face of politics, and created a way for others to do the same. You indeed are a talented artist.

Very proud of you wherever u are... and siwezi sahau kutaja... juha kalulu was my favorite read when I was still very young....

  • I love this!! Does anybody know how I can contact Mr. Kalulu? I would love to interview him.

  • Now I can put the real face behind good old Juha. Tremendous output, great work!! I hardly ever read Taifa Leo, preferred the Nation, but I used to read Juha and often wondered why it was not in the Nation.

  • well done, great talent. ihope someone can translate his cartoons to other langauges so he can get the maximum recognition he deserves!

  • I remember the days when we used to collect these cartoon strips.

  • I grew reading Taifa leo. Juha Kalulu section was my favorite

  • I love Juha Kalulu.
