Who banned the GTHO phase 4, and why?

Ford sorta gave up after that,then they all started using other cars from Europe,Japan and the States.If there was no ban Ford would have stayed competitive and tryn hard to beat Holdens Torana's.With no GTHO it was pointless as Ford threw in the towel.Theres a doco on here somewere about it all

@hunjsuk They banned the GTHO phase 4 (XA Coupe). It hit all the media about how fast they were straight from the factory! So the GTHO was to not be produced only the GT was alowed.Once the ban took place it limited Ford to what they could do.

Very true... Imagine the technology the big 3 missed out on researching because they couldn't produce the best they could. But imagine a XC GT..... *vomit
