Yea I like Brilliant Speed in the Derby with that full mile mile and a quarter he's a good bet at 30-1 right now

Watch the Dania Beach stakes and the Hallandale Beach stakes down at Gulf. Brilliant Speed has some turn of foot. Being by Dynaformer who we know sired Barbaro there is plenty to like. Throw his first two dirt races out. They were sprints. He needs the added distance. Rosario and up and comer. Don't leave this guy out at 25-1 or better.

This video hurts my feelings I had Congie and Brilliant speed on the exacta nosed out of $1000 as I stood on one of those pretty benches....the pace was dawdling though, Im going to rule out this group in my picks...Twinspired is probably the most interesting of this group

Twinspired is no nag. His finishing fractions and gallop out mark him a definite Derby threat as he will move WAY up off of this race. With most of the "speedballs" out of the Derby, Twinspired should secure a forward position and sit pretty. Looking for a 5 furlong work at Churchill in 58 and change or so to tighten the screws and seal the deal Thunder Gulch style at around 20-1.

@ghostzapper2006 Don't write off this race that fast. First off, another exciting finish to a prep, and the way Brilliant Speed closed in from last at the head of the stretch and into those soft fractions was impressive. If he can take to the dirt at Churchill, he could very well be a factor late in the game. Twinspired is a hard-knocking colt, and potential hunch play. This race did its muddling of the derby picture. Want a weak race, this year's Illinois Derby should fulfill that.
