Bernard Kouchner - Economic development is the best way to combat terrorism - IQ2 debate

Bernard Kouchner argues against the motion "The war on terror was the right response to 9/11" at Cadogan Hall on 6th September 2011.

He posits that the correct response would have been to economically develop the countries involved. A war on terror, he reasons, is useless whilst poverty and illiteracy remain unaddressed; instead, it should have been a 'war on poverty'.

I completely agree with Sir Bernard Kouchner. Al Qaeda tactics work by brain washing ill educated people with the use of Religion. Education and helping third world countries with fighting poverty will help eliminate terrorism. War is never the answer. Not in the 21st century.
