No, Great Gray Owls (for as big as they are) consume only mice and voles. Their talons are much too small to go after any small dog. Other large owls could potentially pose a threat, but keep in mind, when you have a small dog outside, it is available to any predator that would normally go after a small/mid-sized mammal.

  • want to know if this dog would go after my small dog. Afraid to let my dog out have one of these owls watching my front door.

  • Damn it's like the 'predator' up in that tree!

  • great gray owls look ugley from there faces but pretty from there bodies! it makes me want to cuddle with them!! i love owls!!! they are my favorite animals! black panthers are my 2nd favorite animals!!

  • i just got two owls for christmas! a barn owl and a snowy owl! (stuffed animals) they make real owl sounds!!
