Checks & Balances. We need public, private and personal media sources.Only with that kind of diversity will we be able to have a true free unbiased press. With no CBC we have little to counter the commercial biases that occur with a purely private broadcasting system. With only government media, you risk too much government influence. We need both (the 3rd is the online and independents).

Honest to God, if they get rid of the CBC, Canada will have sunk to a new low. I honestly don't get it! Canada was one of the few countries to weather the financial crisis, and now they want to dismantle everything that made Canada great?? What is happening o my country?
