Johnny Thomson hits Jerry Hoyt's stricken car during Langhorne 100 mile IndyCar race, 19th May 1955. Thomson suffered a broken collarbone.

Hoyt was killed less then two months after this during a sprint car race in Oklahoma City. Thomson was also killed during a sprint car race in Allentown in 1960.

  • Motor racing was crazy and unsafe back then. Of he 33 drivers who started the 1955 race, 16 died racing.
