how do you map the pads to redrum? when i do it through Remote Override Edit Mode it plays the sound but doesn't record it

the axiom is a midi-controller keyboard... you can assign diffrent sounds e.g. to the pads or knobs using a DAW such as Ableton, ProTools, Logic, etc.
The Keyboard itself has no sound processor... it's only meant to control parameters in a programm / software instrument

no offense, but why buy reason when there are better sounding daws with more possibilities?

You'll need some software sampler. I used Reason's Redrum
