@hybridharris Thanks for reminding me. Peter Gay is indeed a great historian, of Freud, paganism and scientific discourse. I thought he had been largely forgotten but in the last few years people such as you and others have reminded me he remains a powerful force in western culture. Thanks again for the reminder.

My envy for those of Great Britain has to do with the fact that have so much history to explore in their own backyard. For a backwoods bunch you have proven to a far more powerful Empire than your Roman overlords.
